Clementine injured her neck when she ran into a tree while chasing a ball. The resulting spinal cord injury rendered her unable to walk. She underwent intensive rehabilitation at Scout’s House emphasizing neuromuscular re-education activities similar to those used in human physical therapy. Although neurological recovery can be slower than orthopedic recovery, Clemmie made remarkable progress and regained the ability to walk in three weeks.
