We are nerds because of several factors. One may be our parents, I know my parents and I have about as many books as many books as John and Sara, one may be the sense of always being correct and intelligent, Cause really, ignorance isn’t bliss. Another factor is obviously our friends, as it is proven friends have a great impact on our personalities. We are proud to be nerds because being a nerd means being right.

Being a nerd is loving something and not being afraid to admit it even if its not the coolest thing on the planet (according to some people, that is), and that is why I’m a nerd. And I’m proud because… I see not reason not to be.

I’m a nerd because I like things (such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, reading in general, Green Day, Supernatural and MUCH more) and I don’t care if those things aren’t particuarly “cool” to like.

As far as I’m concerned, being a nerd is just another way to say that we’re passionate about something. Art nerds, theater nerds, math nerds, science nerds, manga/anime nerds… we love what we love and we’re not afraid to admit it.

as for your question about nerds, i don’t think any of us intentionally became nerds as we were all probably forced into that category around 6th grade when such things started to matter. the important thing about our status as nerds is that once we noticed we had been slapped with a label, we accepted our titles and wore our nerdiness with pride. and thus the nerdfighters were born.

Everything is longer here in Pennsylvania
We are nerds because somewhere in our youth we started learning things that people weren’t even trying to tech us, because we stopped caring solely about going outside and making a mess of ourselves. I grew up many miles away from my nearest friends house. Instead i played with K’nex, and discovered the discovery channel.
